Designed by Dunn & Watson in keeping with the style of MacLaren's buildings in Fortingall, the new terrace of cottages was built in 1913.

The cottages were originally thatched. In the 1970s the tenants refused to have the thatch renewed because they had burnt down several times (probably because the estate gave every tenant an allowance of coal which was burnt in open grates). They now have a very fine example of slating.
