Volume 16 features several of the drawings produced by Thomas MacLaren, younger brother of James M MacLaren, when he was a student travelling in England, Scotland, Italy and Switzerland.

Also featured in an article by Alan Calder on James MacLaren's Santa Catalina Hotel, built in Las Palmas between 1887 and 1889.
